Disappointing result at Elland Road in a game we were expected to win fairly easily but , in the end, were lucky to come away from with a point.

A scrappy encounter throughout, it was Walker’s bad call from a corner that allowed Thomas-Moore to nod the ball into an unprotected net. The more we chased the game following the goal, the more mistakes we made, including a clumsy challenge on Thomas-Moore by Parker in the middle of the park which I still maintain was not a red card offence. Unfortunately, this assertion means I’m now on a warning from the FA.

With the match heading towards a potentially disastrous home defeat, we somehow remembered how to play for a couple of minutes. Originating from Walker, we left the Tranmere defence flat-footed as Merino orchestrated a beautiful display of pass and move football, capped with a surging run into the box and our only shot on target in the match.

Overall, however, a disjointed display from a group of players still trying to gel as a team.
